Compact Crowd Pleaser
A fantastic choice for the mobile professional covering small to medium audience events. The DV8 provides excellent speech intelligibility, extremely wide dispersion, even sound projection over distance and ultra high-fidelity music reproduction.
Invertible Option Turns Compact Systems on Their Heads
The highest-quality sound with outstanding audience coverage. The DV8 provides a remarkable combination of flat frequency response, high output, broad coverage and long throw from a very compact, lightweight and visually attractive loudspeaker.
Ultra-wide horizontal coverage of 120 degrees helps to provide consistent, intelligible coverage to audience areas that are to the far left and right, outside the coverage of ordinary portable loudspeakers. This extremely wide coverage is made possible through the use of a line-array waveguide, which, along with the vertical alignment of the drivers, helps to constrain vertical coverage to a nominal 20 degrees. The tight vertical pattern provides more consistent coverage over greater distances and minimizes ceiling and floor reflections, enhancing intelligibility.
The DV series is ideal for DJs and sound system providers who need the ability to scale between two smaller systems and one larger system. The seamless coupling feature of the DV8s makes them much more versatile than any other choice on the market because they offer the extremely wide 120-degree horizontal coverage whether using one or two per side AND the choice of tighter, the same, or expanded vertical coverage when using two per side. When you expand to own more than one pair of DV8s, you can use them in multiple rooms, on separate gigs, or seamlessly coupled to serve much larger rooms.
Just the right balance… a dream come true.
I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and these are absolutely the best sounding mids and highs I have heard for a mobile DJ.”

The DV8 is a 2-way active, powered, processed, full-range, direct radiating loudspeaker. The vented cabinet features two 8″ woofers with a 1″ throat compression driver on an isophasic wave guide that yields a coverage pattern of 120 degrees horizontal by 20 degrees vertical.
The DV8 provides high output and uniform energy dispersion over a very wide and deep sound field. The cabinets are vertically arrayable in pairs, with the pairs offering coherent high-frequency summing for extended projection (aka throw), a tightened vertical dispersion pattern and no loss of horizontal dispersion or the “comb filtering” associated with conventional side-by-side arraying.
Ideal for the mobile professional who moves gear on a regular basis, the handles incorporated in the sides, top and bottom of the cabinet extend past the amplifier to protect it in transit. With handles designed for ergonomic and balanced transport, it is very easy to handle. The cabinet is compact, only 22” high x 18” deep, and weighs just 42 pounds.
BASSBOSS cabinets are built in the USA and created to stand up to intense usage. The cabinets are constructed from 15mm Baltic Birch plywood, assembled using dado joints, screws and advanced composite adhesives. Stainless steel bolts are used to secure the drivers, amplifier and pole sockets. The cabinet is finished in an extremely rugged, black polyurethane coating. The woofer is protected by a black powder-coated, perforated steel grill.
The amplifier consists of 2 channels with a total of 1400W. The amplifier features extremely high dynamic power capacity, with 120 Volts peak output per channel, along with high damping of >10,000:1 Efficient, PFC power supply and class D output topology.
Efficient, PFC power supply and class D output topology offers exceptional dynamic resolution and detail along with precise control. It features low current draw and light weight, relative to the high-output capacity.
All the processing necessary for linear frequency response and phase coherent operation are pre-programmed into the DSP. With the comprehensive processing built in, BASSBOSS loudspeakers provide the ease of plug-and-play operation and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the multiple limiter systems make to system virtually indestructible.
Electrical power is converted into acoustical energy by a pair of 8″ neodymium motor woofers. These premium-quality, drivers feature 2″ copper voice coils, and peak-to-peak excursion capability of up to 16mm.
High frequencies are handled by a 1″ throat compression driver featuring a 44mm aluminum voice coil and a Polyamide diaphragm mounted to a 1″ x 4″ exit, cast aluminum isophasic wave guide.
High-intensity Neodymium magnets are lighter and provide higher efficiency so the result is a lighter and louder cabinet. A copper shorting cap provides for increased high frequency response and reduced distortion and a ventilated voice coil gap improves cooling and reduces thermal compression.
The cones are waterproofed to protect them from possible, accidental exposure to moisture such as rain or spilled beverages. Waterproofed woofer cones also permit the cleaning of drivers that have been soiled in a dirty or dusty environment with the use of a damp cloth. Keep the amplifiers dry and party on!
Waterproofed cones in all products. Optional weatherized and weather resistant loudspeakers have the same acoustical performance as our standard options. If your system is likely to be exposed to rain, ask about IP rated amplification options. If you have need of a system for outdoor installation, ask about Weatherized products.
BASSBOSS speakers can be connected directly to your mixer with nothing but signal cable in between. The built-in processing is comprehensive and includes all necessary high-pass and low-pass filters along with equalization and phase alignment processing to ensure coherent response when deployed with BASSBOSS subwoofers.
There is no need for any additional EQ in the signal path for the speaker to provide a broad, flat frequency response. Sophisticated DSP programming ensures the speakers deliver consistent sound quality no matter the input level.
Plug-and play with peace of mind. Multiple, sophisticated protection systems make the loudspeaker virtually indestructible. You can turn on and turn up, all night, without fear of over-driving to the point of damage.
BASSBOSS technical specs are based on measurements of continuous performance in normal usage. Other manufacturers may specify output based on calculations rather than measurements; measurements outside the operating bandwidth; or on ‘Burst’ or ‘Peak’ readings.
BASSBOSS specifications are conservative compared to most manufacturers. They reflect what the products will achieve, consistently, in the real world. Since the real world is where you’ll be using your gear.

“I unpacked and set up all the speakers (Two DV8 Tops, SSP118-QUAD Subs) in my basement, it was very easy!
I quickly went thru my normal system testing playlist and let me tell you I was blown away! The depth and clarity in DV8’s is on par with Meyer, D+B, and L-Acoustic, all of which I run frequently.
To give a little history about myself I’m an International touring FOH engineer, I’ve worked on some very expensive large systems around the world, so I do have some comparison! I have to say yours was instantly there, just iPod straight from my little mixer with no eq it was on point!
After scouring the marketplace for over a year, I finally came across a PA that can faithfully reproduce the acoustic piano, EP and organ sounds from my Nord Electro and Korg SV-1 – and at ANY VOLUME! While other PAs/speakers tend to break down at loud volumes (especially the midrange), the DV-8 keeps going strong.
IMHO the smallest, most powerful, loudest, clearest sounding speakers money can buy. I always say you get what you pay for, and these DV8s definitely fit that model. Plus, if you get four and mount them vertically you get a system that will give any other system in comparable size a run for its money. There is a reason you have to ask for them by name at GC. Absolutely outstanding customer support.
The BassBoss DV8 system provided excellent coverage over a very wide area covering our crowds of 5,000+ with crystal clear and powerful sound for our Broadway musical. The subs David partnered with them gave deep, full bass well over 150’ back with extremely even coverage and tone throughout the bass range without breaking a sweat. With a very lightweight and compact rig that was well thought out and easy to move we were able to cover everything without ever even coming close to running out of headroom.
I purchased the DV8 as my main keyboard amp/monitor and am thrilled with it. I matched it up against several (nearly half a dozen) other (very) expensive powered PAs (including a Fulcrum FA12 AC) and it hands-down outperformed all of them, particularly when reproducing acoustic piano sounds from my Nord Stage 2 and Korg SV1. Bassboss customer service was also outstanding. Both Lian and David were there to help me choose the correct product and post-purchase to advise on the best setup for gigs. I know the DV8 is not specifically marketed as a keyboard amp, but anyone looking for a killer solution to accurately reproduce acoustic/electric piano and organ should check this one out.
Absolutely the best sounding mids and highs I have heard for a mobile DJ. Just the right balance……
Powered by internal Powersoft amps, these are a dream come true.
