You’ll see head snaps when this comes on, guaranteed.
For Mobile Professionals who provide superior sound quality. The SSP118-MKII delivers premium sonic experiences unavailable with other manufacturer’s single 18″. One cabinet will replace 3-4 competing cabinets, for more sound out of less space and cost. Why carry more?
The Nightclub Experience, Mobilized
Bad-boy for mobile DJs and small venues, a single 18″ cabinet that delivers like a double 18″. With low frequency output down to 30 Hz and sustained output up to 130 dB, you can easily bring serious bass for mid-size rooms with a single cabinet.
Each SSP118-MKII Subwoofer offers the SPL of two, three and in some cases four mass-market subs, with deep-bass output competitors don’t touch, in a much smaller overall package.
Fits in a hatchback, rolls in and out on a custom wheel cart. Slick.
Multiple proprietary protection technologies ensure that the woofers remain within their excursion and thermal limits, so they don't break or burn like other subs. BASSBOSS provides much higher levels of deep bass than mass-market subs, reliably.
With plenty of headroom to keep up with the most enthusiastic crowd and not run out of bass.
So turn it up, and keep it up. BASS is good for you.
BASSBOSS not responsible for noise complaints.
If you want premium bass in a small package, this is the way to go.
I used two on a medium sized event and it is astonishing! Where I would normally bring four JBL SRX718s, two SSP118s blew them away. Even one sub is already overkill on my DJ events. It’s better to have more than being short on bass. ”

The SSP118-MKII is a vented, direct radiating single 18″ subwoofer with extensive bracing, easy portability and frequency response that rivals many double-18″ subs. Very large ports maximize low frequency performance at high output. The ports exit outside the perimeter of the woofer grill to minimize air flow noise. The port walls, handles and amplifier recess are all designed to serve as braces in addition to their primary purposes, making the cabinet extremely rigid. The port openings and amplifier recess also offer grab points on the front and rear of the cabinet.
BASSBOSS cabinets are hand-built in the USA. Constructed from 18mm Baltic Birch plywood, using dado joints, screws and advanced composite adhesives.
A top-mounted pole socket provides for mid-high loudspeakers to be mounted on a straight speaker pole above the subwoofer. The enclosures feature four large rubber feet on the bottom, with corresponding recesses in the opposite side to facilitate interlocking the boxes when stacked.
There are two handles on each side. The amplifier recess is designed to also serve as a handle on the back of the cabinet and the port openings allow lifting from the front.
Created to stand up to intense usage. The cabinet is finished in an extremely rugged, black polyurethane coating. Drivers are protected by a black powdercoated, perforated steel grill, and the amp is recessed into the back of the cabinet for protection from damage, direct sun and moisture.
A 2400W RMS amplifier with integrated, comprehensive DSP is included. The amplifier is rated for RMS output using continuous sine wave signal.
This is not a Peak or Burst power rating. BASSBOSS uses only continuous RMS power ratings because you’re not going to be using your sub in millisecond bursts. For subwoofer applications, Peak and Burst power ratings are largely irrelevant.
The amplifier is capable of delivering 2400W of continuous output. This ensures the amp isn’t the limiting factor in the output of low frequencies. Providing abundant power prevents overheating issues and virtually eliminates the damage that clipping a too-small amp can cause.
For larger events, several arraying options are available. Block arrays, side-by-side arrays and front/back Cardioid arrays can be deployed securely thanks to the interlocking feet. Presets are included in the DSP.
All that electrical power is converted into acoustical power by an 18″ neodymium motor woofer. This premium-quality driver features split-wound 4″ copper voice coil, and peak-to-peak excursion capability of up to 56 mm.
High-intensity Neodymium magnets are lighter and provide higher efficiency so the result is a lighter and louder cabinet. Split-wound coils produce a more linear force through the range of movement of the cone, which results in lower distortion and improved linearity at high output.
The cones are waterproofed to protect them from possible, accidental exposure to moisture such as rain or spilled beverages. Waterproofed woofer cones also permit the cleaning of drivers that have been soiled in a dirty or dusty environment with the use of a damp cloth. Keep the amplifiers dry and party on!
Waterproofed cones in all products. Optional weatherized and weather resistant loudspeakers have the same acoustical performance as our standard options. If your system is likely to be exposed to rain, ask about IP rated amplification options. If you have need of a system for outdoor installation, ask about Weatherized products.
BASSBOSS subs can be connected directly to your mixer with nothing but signal cable in between. The built-in processing is comprehensive and yet minimal manipulation is applied to the signal. The processing includes only a high pass filter and a low-pass filter. There is no need for any EQ in the signal for the speaker to provide a broad, flat frequency response. A sophisticated limiter system protects the woofer from thermal and over-excursion damage.
Plug-and play with peace of mind. Multiple, sophisticated protection systems make the loudspeaker virtually indestructible. You can turn on and turn up, all night, without fear of over-driving to the point of damage.
BASSBOSS technical specs are based upon measurements of continuous performance capabilities in normal usage. Other manufacturers may specify output based on calculations rather than measurements; measurements outside the operating bandwidth; or on ‘Burst’ or ‘Peak’ readings.
BASSBOSS specifications are conservative compared to most manufacturers. They reflect what the products will achieve, consistently, in the real world. Since the real world is where you’ll be using your gear.

I have owned a few higher end consumer subs over the past few years and most of them are are pretty similar in how they sound with only slight differences. The Bassboss SSP118 was a totally different beast. I realized what I was missing was that “Power” wasn’t how loud a particular frequency of a sub sounded, but how it “feels” and sounds. I was missing the shockwave that was created by the SSP118 with my other subs. It wasn’t necessarily louder than the other subs, but the perception of power was night and day. The really low stuff was moving more air than my other subs ever did and the overall sound was really smooth across the entire range of the sub. You will enjoy listening to music more with these. While you are not going to get concert levels with the SSP118, you get the same character of sound that you would expect from a high-end concert setup just at lower levels (obviously). No frequency left behind!
I am a mobile DJ and being portable is something I was interested in and thankfully these didn’t feel as heavy as the specs indicated. I think that is due to the weight being evenly distributed in the sub and plenty of places to get a hand to lift them. I lift it regularly by myself. Nice.
Overall, these were slightly more expensive than my other subs, but they delivered much more and I would buy several of these in the future.
Customer support is amazing. I am a small blip on their sales radar, but they treated me like I was important and took the time to answer all my questions. Shout out to Chris Scoda. David Lee even called me and gave me some good info. You guys rock.
Wow. What a great product and service. You get what you pay for. It will literally take five or six lesser subs to equal one. And, the follow up service is unreal in a world where once most companies have your money, they are done with you. BASSBOSS has called and emailed me unsolicited to follow up multiple times.
My subwoofer is the best addition to my dj setup. It is really physical bass you can feel without compromising sound quality. There are really no words that can describe the feeling it gives you. You have to experience the bass. It goes through your body in a surreal way. There is no ear fatigue, no clipping and no distortion whatsoever. Just clean clear bass reproduction.
Nothing comes close hands down. I experienced many subwoofers but BASSBOSS, it’s in a class by itself. I’m super proud to own one and be part of the BASSBOSS family. Plus it’s made here in Austin, Texas USA. Thank You again BASSBOSS!
BASSBOSS team has been excellent to work with. Their passion for music and sounds reflects in their product and customer service. From the moment you contact BASSBOSS they answer all your questions, they listen to your needs and what you’re trying to accomplish. That was very important to me. It made my decision of the sub I wanted an easy choice. The process was enjoyable in every step. I was also impressed by the follow up email BASSBOSS sent to me. I was very satisfied with my purchase. Will be doing business again with them soon.
When buying from BassBoss you get great sound and great service from everyone at BassBoss. David helped me plan out everything I would need from now till essentially the end of time. For audiophiles it’s a great subwoofer because it has an extremely clear, well-defined tone. The setup is extremely easy and even with just one SSP118 the sound is phenomenal. I would encourage everyone to buy from BassBoss for any professional sound needs.
These subs simply sell themselves. They amazed me from day 1 and I have been doing this for about 40 years.
The gig over the weekend was great and the sub was even better. I used JBL tops with it and at max volume the sub didn’t event break a sweat… and the JBLs were blinking like it was X-Mas. In most cases, subs can’t keep up with the tops, but in this case I would need to have 2 JBL tops to keep up with one SSP118, and just maybe they may have a fighting chance.

I purchased two SSP118 subwoofers. They are a great addition to my sound system. I do about 60-70 events a year! I’ve used these subs indoors and outdoors and they sound great in both capacities. I’ve also used them with my DJ and Live Bands. I love the deep full bass and the punchiness. I will buy from Bass Boss again! #bassbosscustomerforlife
Chris is a great sales rep. The rest of the team is very responsive and helpful when Chris is not available. I am very happy all around with their support.
Bob Fleischmann, Reflex DJ Service
I love this speaker and have not heard anything like it in all my years of DJing. My old subs just couldn’t match the clarity and range. I haven’t even pushed them yet – can’t wait for a club gig! I already have compliments on the sound. I am hearing (and feeling) notes come out of this thing that I have never heard out my music before. I have to turn my tops up just to match this sub! The entire room resonated last night at a class reunion. I’ve never heard 80’s music so alive!
I plan on buying two more subs soon from BassBoss! The salesperson, Chris is great. He answered all my questions and made it super-easy to order. Thanks BassBoss.
power : awesome,
looks : oh my! this speaker is the boss of all things bass!
No words to describe… this outstanding SSP118 unit. I have received my speaker today and I love how it fits just right on the back of my Toyota Camry. Much Love and Respect … for the BASSBOSS team and their hard work … !!
Christopher Ashbrook, Katabatik Sound
Hands down nothing touches these for their size. Without a doubt these are twice the punch and loudness of any front firing 18″s I’ve used. Extremely tight and articulate response!
BASSBOSS SSP118 delivers a clean and powerful bass that can only be heard on some of the popular dual 18 box. It’s a great value, because it comes with a fully transferable, no fault warranty for 2 years (on the woofer), 6 years for the cabinet and customer service is second to none. All quality materials has been used from the ground up to build such a beast!
One cabinet is more than enough when doing a small gig for DJ or live sound reinforcement. I have ordered two of these cabinet and have used both on a medium sized event, without even coupling the SSP118 and it is astonishing! Where I would normally bring four JBL SRX718s.
Thanks to David, Lian and the whole BASSBOSS team for the support during the entire purchase process, shipping and making a satisfied customer. Even after I have received and used the sub, they still have my back.
Kirby Oliveras, Guitar Center Pro
The BASSBOSS SSP118 sub is a little more expensive but, in my 20 plus years in audio, I’ve never heard anything like what they make. They are easily twice as loud as any single sub on the market with a lower USABLE response as well. I compared this with every other competitor on the market- no one moves as much air. No one.
Perfect for the mobile DJ who believes in “less is more.” At 2400 watts rms, one sub is perfect for coverage between 100-200 people in a small to medium sized hall. After receiving numerous compliments on the quality of the sound, I can say that I am satisfied. It is worth the investment for a quality cab.
